Marcha Cicloturista Calamocha 6ª Por las Cumbres del Jiloca

Finally, after spending almost the whole month of April fighting an infection, without riding for the last two weeks I started again last Wednesday. This left me very little time to prepare for the event I rode on Saturday, which I really noticed on the three category 1 climbs at the end of the ride. The event was the Marcha Cicloturista Calamocha 6ª Por las Cumbres del Jiloca, which was a good challenging course, made much more difficult by the strong wind in your face for much of the day. The starting peloton stayed together for the first 7 kilometers until the turn at Caminreal and then broke up with the wind from behind with the first 4 climbs of the day being fast with very fast descents, up to 70 kms/hr and very quick on the flat sections. After making the turn at Cortes, approximately 70 kms into the route the wind was from the front for the rest of the day, getting stronger as the day went on, with some very strong gusts on the final climbs. This event was very well organized and even though I was suffering on the last 3 climbs, the volunteers and the other riders made the day enjoyable. This is definitely an event I would recommend for next year. Congratrulations on a great event C.C. Calamocha.

Finalmente, después de estar casi todo el mes de abril luchando contra una infección, sin montar la bici las últimas dos semanas, he vuelto a hacerlo el miércoles. Esto me ha dejado muy poco tiempo para prepararme para el evento al que he ido este sábado, lo que he notado realmente en los tres puertos de primera categoría en el final del recorrido. El evento fue la Marcha Cicloturista Calamocha 6ª Por las Cumbres del Jiloca, que ha sido un recorrido bastante desafiante, con mayor dificultad por el fuerte viento en la cara que tuvimos la mayoría del día. El pelotón inicial estuvo reunido durante los primeros 7 kilómetros, hasta la desviación a Caminreal y después se separó con el viento por detrás, lo que hizo que las cuatro primeras subidas del día fueran rápidas con bajadas de mucha velocidad hasta 70 km/h y muy rápido en las zonas planas. Después de girar en Cortes, aproximadamente a los 70 Km del inicio, el viento vino de frente por el resto del camino, haciéndose más fuerte cuando el día fue pasando, con unas rachas muy fuertes en las últimas subidas. El evento estuvo muy bien organizado y aunque yo estuve sufriendo en las últimas tres subidas, los voluntarios y los otros ciclistas hicieron que disfrutara el día. Es definitivamente un evento que recomendaría para el próximo año. Enhorabuena por el gran evento a CC Calamocha.
