Ruta de la Reconquista 2010 Stage 1

Today was the first stage of the Ruta de la Reconquista which is a four day tour around the area of Mieres, an area which has many old mining towns and lots of good climbs. The route for the first stage was 60 kms out and back, starting to climb lightly right from the beginning before arriving at the final climb, 5 kms of 2nd category climb on broken asphalt to arrive at the turnaround. A fairly easy route, in which the speed is controlled by a lead car, but it is usually fast enough to be a good pace. Thanks to Ciclos Fran for the mechanical help. Tomorrow the tour continues with more climbing.
Hoy ha sido la primera etapa de la Ruta de la Reconquista que consiste en un tour de 4 días alrededor del área de Mieres, una zona que tiene muchos pueblos de antiguas minerías y un montón de buenas subidas. La ruta de la primera etapa ha sido de 60 km, ida y vuelta, empezando a subir ligeramente desde el principio antes de llegar al final de la subida, 5 km de subida de 2ª categoría en asfalto roto para llegar y dar la vuelta. Una ruta bastante fácil, en la que la velocidad estaba controlada por un coche delantero, que generalmente iba lo suficientemente rápido para ir a un buen paso.
