Lagos de Covadonga

I left the house this morning here in Asturias under a beautiful blue sky, with temperatures much cooler than they were in Madrid and headed towards Cangas de Onís. After arriving in Cangas de Onís, I went to Covadonga and climbed up to the Lagos de Covadonga. As you can see on the profile, the most difficult part of the climb is between kilometers 11 and 13, but later you will find that upon reaching the summit and turning around to make the descent, there are two short but painful climbs you will have to make before the long, fast descent back to Covadonga. Some care is advisable on the descent as there is a short section of the road, maybe 15 or 20 meters which is in bad condition just after passing through La Huesera.
Here are 2 photos of the views at the last curve before the end of the road.
