Riaza - Majaelrayo - Riaza

This morning I drove to Riaza to escape the heat in Madrid and as you can see in the picture it was a beautiful morning with a comfortable temperature of 21º C to start the climb to La Quesera. As you can see in the profile it is a little steeper in the middle section but not terribly difficult. The road is ok to ride on a road bike although it is quite bumpy and rough which affects the descent more.

This is the sign which is posted at the summit, the only notice you will see.
You can see in the video that the road is manageable but rough. The next video is part of the fantastic descent to the river valley before you arrive at the torturous rolling hills which take you into Majaelrayo.
Next we have the arrival in Majaelrayo, one of the typical towns in the area of La Tejera Negra.

The most difficult part of this ride are the rolling steep climbs in the 17 kilometers between Majaelrayo and the actual climb of the mountain. The total ride is just over 80 kilometers with 2176 meters of climbing.

A typical construction in this area.
