Cycling is Life

First of all, I would like to send my best wishes and my condolences to Eldon Nelson and his family, whose wife, Susan died last week of cáncer. As some of you know I am riding my Vuelta a España to help the Livestrong Foundation raise funds to fight cancer. Today, I rode the first stage of eighteen in my Vuelta, starting and finishing in Vigo and I have to say the profile does not give you a true idea of what this route is like. The profile appears to be relatively flat with three small climbs, the highest being only 390 meters, but they are more difficult than you might think. The rest of the route is constantly either up or down, but it is a very nice ride, with views of the sea and very green.
The route took me 5:53:56, for the 150.10 kilometers, a bit slow, but I am being hampered by a hamstring problem, which I am trying to work through.

Hoy he hecho la primera etapa de las 18 que componen mi Vuelta y que empezó y terminó en Vigo y he de decir que el perfil no da una idea exacta de cómo es la ruta. El perfil parece ser relativamente plano con pequeños repechos, siendo el más alto de solo 390 metros, pero son más difíciles de lo que pudierais pensar. El resto de la ruta es constantemente arriba y abajo pero es una ruta muy bonita y muy verde.
He tardado 5:53:56 en hacer los 150.10 km, un poco despacio pero me está enlenteciendo una lesión de un músculo de detrás de mi rodilla, la cual estoy intentando superar.
Mañana la etapa es de Allariz a Santiago de Compostela.
