Cycling is Life

Today, the first thing I would like to say is that I have seen drivers in four different countries do some pretty stupid things, but this is one of the stupidest I have ever seen. This happens at least 7 or 8 times every day and I have to ask the following questions. Would you do this if it were a car coming the other way? NO! Would you do this if it were a motorcycle coming the other way? NO! Then why would you do it when there is a cyclist coming in the opposite direction? A cyclist can fall for any number of reasons and be run over by people who are too stupid to follow the rules of the road. It is illegal to pass in a dangerous way!
Now on to today's stage, everything started well, although several people thought I was going the wrong way, because it was the most difficult route, but it was the right one. From Cordoba there is about 40 km of winding mountain road to reach Villaviciosa de Córdoba, mostly climbing with a few descents. When you arrive you pass through the village, make another short climb, only to find that the highway is closed and there is a detour. The problem is that the detour takes you back towards Córdoba and adds 30 km to the day. It also involves more mountain road, so the first 70 kms are relatively slow, but when you get onto the N-432 the speed increases, however it is also starting to get very hot. When I reached Fuente Obejuna, I stopped with my support crew ( my wife and son), and as the car was showing the temperature to be 43º and it was becoming impossible to drink enough, I decided to call it a day. I finished with 130.03 kms in 5:22:46. I would really like to know why the professionals start so late in the day, when it is so hot.
Hoy, la primera cosa que me gustaría decir es que he visto conductores en 4 paises diferentes hacer cosas bastante estúpidas, pero esta es una de las más estúpidas que he visto. Esto que he puesto en el video pasa por lo menos siete u ocho veces cada día y tengo que formular las siguientes preguntas. ¿Harían esto si fuera un coche lo que viniera en sentido contrario? NO ¿Harían esto si viniera una moto en sentido contrario? NO Entonces, ¿por qué hacen esto cuando viene un ciclista? Un ciclista puede caer por muchas causas y puede ser atropellado por gente que es demasiado estúpida para cumplir las normas de circulación. ¡Es ilegal adelantar de forma peligrosa!
En etapa de hoy, todo comenzó bien, aunque varias personas pensaron que iba en la dirección equivocada, porque era la mas dificil, pero era la correcta. Desde Córdoba hay cerca de 40 km de carretera sinuosa de montaña para llegar a Villaviciosa de Córdoba, mayoritariamente subida con algún descenso. Cuando pasas por el pueblo haces otra subida corta, para llegar a un lugar donde la carretera esta cortada y hay que dar una vuelta. El problema es que la vuelta te lleva otra vez a Córdoba y añade 30 km al día. Esto además incluye mas carretera de montaña por lo que los primeros 70 km son relativamente lentos, pero cuando llegas a la N-432 la velocidad aumenta, pero también empieza a hacer mucho calor. Cuando he llegado a Fuente Ovejuna he parado con mi equipo de apoyo (mi mujer y mi hijo) y como el coche estaba monstrando una temperatura exterior de 43ºC y me era imposible beber suficiente, he decidido terminar el día. He terminado con 130.03 km en 5:22:46. Me gustaría saber como los profesionales comienzan tan tarde las etapas de las carreras cuando hace tanto calor.
